Julie Ann Sletta Miron, 74, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at the Ava House, Sanford Hospital, Sioux Falls, SD, on Saturday, October 21, 2023.
Memorial services will be held Friday, October 27, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson with Pastor Kendall Stelter officiating.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 26, 2023 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson with a prayer service at 6:30 PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Grace Lutheran Church, Lac qui Parle Hope Network, or Sanford Cancer Center.

Julie Ann Sletta was born June 27, 1949 in Madelia, MN to Theodore and JaNette (Lawrence) Sletta. She was baptized and confirmed at La Salle Lutheran Church. Julie attended and graduated from St. James High School. After graduation she attended Mankato State University where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in education. Julie was united in marriage to Clarence Miron on July 29, 1969 at La Salle Lutheran Church and to this union three children were born. They made their home in Dawson, where Julie worked as a speech clinician for Dawson-Boyd Public Schools for over thirty years. Julie will be remembered as a loving, caring, and compassionate mother, grandmother, friend and teacher; always assuring that those around her were cared for, loved, and respected, providing an outpouring of generosity through her contributions to the Dawson-Boyd School System, Grace Lutheran Church, and numerous charitable boards and organizations.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence; children, Christopher Miron (Russell Cole) of Dubuque, IA, Theodore (Michelle) Miron of Austin, TX, and Lindsey (Brad) Flayton of Sioux Falls, SD; grandchildren, Katelin, Joshua, Cameron and Yvie Miron, and Grace and Jack Flayton; sister, Sharon Quenemoen Kittle (Keith Kittle); and numerous extended family and friends.
Julie was preceded in death by her parents and brother Richard Sletta.
