Adaline “Adie” Marie Anderson was born on June 12, 1939 in Slayton, MN to Carl and Hilma (Bloch) Anderson. She was baptized and confirmed at First Trinity Lutheran Church in Westbrook, MN. Adie attended and graduated from Westbrook High School in 1957. She went on to plan many of her high school reunions. She loved to visit and see all of her classmates from Westbrook. After graduation, Adie moved to the Twin Cities and went to Gale Business School. After completing Gale, Adie worked for Prudential until 1959. In August of 1959, Adie moved to Windom, MN and started working in the office at Toro. It was there that she would meet the love of her life, G. Arlen Rossow. They would start dating in January of 1960 and marry in June of the same year. After marrying Arlen, Adie started working for Dr. KM Nelson at his dentist office. She obtained her Registered Dental Assistant certificate from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Adie worked as a dental assistant and office administrator for 53 years for both Dr. KM Nelson and then Dr. Gary Nelson. Adie loved her work at the dental office. She cherished her dental office family.
Adie was an active member of American Lutheran Church in Windom where she was involved in Bible studies, church boards, and taught Sunday school. Later in life, Arlen and Adie moved to Montevideo where she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Adie was an avid Elvis Presley fan. She was a member of the Elvis Presley Fan Club. Adie enjoyed reading, cooking, baking, book club, planning many events, and spending time with her family. She loved attending her grandchildren’s many school activities. Most importantly, Adie loved hosting all of her grandchildren at their hobby farm in Windom each summer for a week of “Granny Camp” (actually Grandpa did a lot of the work, as Adaline was working). They loved their grandchildren!
Adaline is survived by her children, Shaun (Angela) Rossow of Black Hawk, SD and Marree (Dan) Douglas of Montevideo, MN; grandchildren Jayme (fiancé, Taylor Casey) and Cooper (fiancée, Rachel Schmahl) Rossow, and Jake (Idee), Isaac, and Kori Douglas; great grandson Berkley Douglas; brother, Charles (Kathy) Anderson; sister, Millie (Sid) Brown; and other extended family and friends.
