Alan Michael Hanna was born on October 21, 1962 in Montevideo, MN to Clyde and Irene (Kiroff) Hanna.  He was baptized and confirmed at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Montevideo. He attended school in Montevideo until 1980 when the family moved to Dighton, KS.  He graduated in 1981 from Dighton High School.  Following high school he attended Denver Automotive and Diesel College completing his training in 1984.  Alan went to work for Halliburton in 1985 as a mechanic working in Great Bend and Bakersfield and eventually became a  Service Supervisor.  He worked all over the world including Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar and United Arab Emirates until August 2013.  He would also work for Trican Well Service in Texas and Central Pump Supply.  Alan was very involved with the upkeep and care of the Hanna Family Farm in Gove County, KS.  He would eventually own and operate High Plains Driving School in Garden City and Dodge City, KS.  As a driving instructor, Alan was thought of very highly by the staff and students at the Garden City and Dodge City YMCA.

Alan married Perla Aquino at a ceremony in Las Vegas, Nevada on August 1, 1997.  To this union 2 children, Michael and Dionisia, were born.  The family made their home in Dighton, KS. Family was very important to Alan.  He would make a point to attend as many family gatherings as possible.  He had a fondness for Montevideo where he grew up. Alan never stopped cheering for the Minnesota Twins or Vikings.  He loved to tell stories and had a quirky sense of humor. He would  often say things to get a rise out of people, then he’d just sit back and wait for their response with a smile.  His sense of humor and smile were priceless.
