Arden Anderson of Montevideo died on Monday, April 13, 2026 at Luther Haven Nursing Home at the age of 90.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30AM on Monday, April 20, 2026 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Donald S. McKee officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be from 5 to 7PM on Sunday, April 19, 2026 at Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo and will continue one hour prior to the services at the church on Monday.

Arden Allen Anderson was born on July 9, 1935, to Johannes and Margarette (Stensrud) Anderson in Star Township, near Thief River Falls, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith. The family lived in the Thief River Falls area until Arden was 12 years old at which time they moved to the Clarkfield area. Arden graduated from Clarkfield High School in 1953.

Arden married Patricia Kiroff on September 4, 1955 in Montevideo They were blessed with three children: twin daughters, Judy and Jill in 1963 and a son, Kenneth in 1966. In 1958, Arden enlisted in the United States Army, where he first served in Texas and later in Frankfurt, Germany.

After serving in the Army, Arden returned to work for K.A. Thompson and Sons Road Construction. He and Pat initially lived south of Clarkfield, before moving to Montevideo, where Arden continued his career in road construction. Later, he worked for Norris Zaiser and then Marigold Foods (Kemps) in Montevideo, driving a semi truck back and forth to Minneapolis and other points in Minnesota. In 1988, Arden rejoined the company and moved to Princeton, Minnesota, where they lived until 1998. The couple returned to Montevideo in 1998, where Arden worked as a school bus driver for Clark Transportation, worked for an area farmer and assisted Pat in her tax business. Arden and Pat have resided together at Luther Haven Nursing home since late 2023.

Arden was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and served in various capacities. Upon returning to Montevideo, he and Pat joined Trinity Lutheran Church, where Arden was active on the call committee and served as an usher. In his later years, he became a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.

Arden had a deep love for singing and dancing, particularly polka. He was a dedicated member of the Fiesta City Chorus for many years and especially looked forward to the annual barbershop shows hosted by the chorus. He was a member of the American Legion and the Teamster Union. Arden and Pat enjoyed traveling especially to Army reunions. Arden also cherished his time hunting deer with family in Goodridge, Minnesota, and enjoyed fishing. Additionally, he was an active volunteer in the Let’s Go Fishing program in Montevideo and a volunteer bus driver for Luther Haven.

Above all, Arden was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He attended countless sporting events and school activities of his children and grandchildren, always there to offer support and encouragement.

Arden is survived by his wife of 70 years, Patricia; children: Judy (Kevin) TeBeest, Jill (Todd) Schroeder, Kenneth Anderson; grandchildren: Karl (Annie Lane) TeBeest, Kyle (Camille) TeBeest, Cody (Hannah) Schroeder, Alec(Ana Monson) Anderson, Kurt (Alyssa) TeBeest, Abby (Jacob O’Brien) Anderson, Andrew Anderson; great-grandchildren: Campbell TeBeest, Carsyn TeBeest, Kade TeBeest, Emilia Schroeder, Klayton TeBeest; sister, Bernice (Eugene) Moseng; brother-in-law, Merlyn Brown; many nieces and nephews and extended family.

Preceding Arden in death were his parents, Johannes and Margarette Anderson; brother, Gordon Anderson; sisters: Dorothy Brown and Marlys (Archie) Froland.
