He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith at Trinity Lutheran Church of Havelock in rural Montevideo. He attended country school and then began farming with his father. Arnold was united in marriage with Ione Christenson at Jevnaker Lutheran Church. They were engaged in farming and raising livestock. He was a hard working, gentle man who centered his entire life around his family and his work. He always loved having people around and especially having all of the nieces and nephews stop by. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Havelock and currently a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Ione; one daughter, Connie Harding and her husband Robert of Montevideo, MN; two grandchildren: Wade Harding and his wife Laura of Shakopee, MN and Sharlynn Harding of West Fargo, ND; and several nieces and nephews.
