Audrey Olsen passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 99.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo.  Rev. Marie Eckberg will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 5-7:00 PM at Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo and at the church for one hour before the service.

Audrey Frances (Fall) Olsen was born on October 6, 1924 in Milan, MN the daughter of David and Frances (Skillman) Fall.  She was baptized and confirmed at the Milan Methodist Church and graduated from Milan High School in 1942.  She worked at her parent's cafe, Dave’s Cafe, in Milan growing up.  After graduation, she took a course at Radio Electronics School in Minneapolis and finished the course in Oakland, CA; she was later employed in the office of communication at United Airlines in Los Angeles.  Audrey was united in marriage with James S. "Dugie" Olsen on August 26, 1944 at the Little Chapel of the Flowers in Berkeley, CA.  After his discharge from the US Navy, they returned to Montevideo and ran Olsen Plumbing and Heating from their home until 1977, when the business was moved to Main Street; they retired in 1986.  They enjoyed spending time at their cabin on Diamond Lake for 40 years as well as spending time at Bradenton, FL after retiring. Audrey lived at Brookside Senior Living in Montevideo for 11 years. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

She was an active member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, the Elizabeth Circle, American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Women's Auxiliary, Minnesota Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors (PHCC) Auxiliary, the Afternoon Women's Bowling League, a Monte square dancing group, Snowdrifters, and the Monte - Milan Club.  She was an election judge for many years.

She is survived by her children: Gary (Helen) Olsen of Montevideo, JoAnn Grote of Montevideo, Dale Olsen of Sarasota, FL, and Sharon (Mark) Falvey of Burnsville; nine grandchildren: Tracie (Steven) Fletcher, Brenda (special friend Brian “Doc”) Olsen, Brian (Heather) Olsen, Paul (Jessica) Olsen, Chad Olsen, Ashley (Parker) Law, and Alyssa (Alex) Looysen; great-grandchildren:  Sophia, James, and Samantha Fletcher; Benjamin and Rachel Sikes; Jen Robert, and Austin Olsen; Molly and Cody Olsen; Alexis Sturm and Kaylinn Olsen; and Lucy and Lincoln Law; and a number of nieces and nephews, including Kenneth (Janice) Olsen who made his home with the family for some time.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Dugie, August 16, 2006; a son, Richard Olsen, 1961; a daughter-in-law, Sue Ann Olsen, 2003; a brother, Ronald Fall and sister-in-law Phyllis; a sister, Donna Kvanli and brother-in-law Chester; and a nephew Alfred Olsen, who made his home with the family for some time.

The family wishes to thank her Brookside family, Dr. Lana Dirkson, the Luther Haven staff, CCM Health staff, the staff of Hospice, and the many pastors that visited her.
