Beatrice Friest died September 27, 2006 at Rosewood in Montevideo at the age of 88.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 2, 2006 at 1:30 P.M. at the United Methodist Church in Montevideo. Rev. Paul Woolverton will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo with the family present from 5-6:30 PM.
Beatrice Anna (Eddy) Friest was born November 11, 1917 at Montevideo, MN the daughter of Ellsworth and Anna (Poppe) Eddy. She was baptized and confirmed at the United Methodist Church in Montevideo and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1936. She was united in marriage with Allan Friest September 12, 1943. They lived in South Dakota, North Dakota and Minnesota before returning to Montevideo in 1977. She was a full-time mom, a homemaker, and a real care giver. She loved horses, needlework, and gardening, especially roses. Beatrice enjoyed traveling to California, Wisconsin, and Arizona to spend time with her family. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and a member of the Dorcus Circle. She was quick to laugh, she loved the fall season, and was very fond of sunsets.
She is survived by four children: Ronald Friest and his wife LaVonne of Basin, WY, Arlene Edmondson and her husband Bill of Phoenix, AZ, Fern Friest and her husband Mike Williams of LaHonda, CA, and Dean Friest of Denver, CO; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one son-in-law, Marlo Carlson of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; and one daughter-in-law, Linda Friest of Denver, CO.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Allan in 1987; two sons: Dale and Donald Friest; one daughter, Eileen Carlson; and two brothers: Maurice and Glenn Eddy.
