Bert William Lemon

Bert Lemon, of Hutchinson, MN, died on Monday, November 3, 2003 at the Hutchinson Area Health care Center at the age of 93.

Committal services were conducted on Wednesday, November 5, 2003 at 2:30 PM at Hillcrest Cemetery in Granite Falls, Mn with Rev. John Bjorge officiating.

Bert William Lemon was born in Watertown, SD to Bert and Esther Lemon. He grew up in Watertown and entered the U S Navy in 1927.  He was united in marriage to Rubie Antonson. He served in the Navy until 1948, retiring in 1948 with the rank of CWO - 2.  He worked for Southern California Edison until retiring in 1961..  They lived in Long Beach, CA from 1948 until Rubie’s death in 1997.  He lived in Oceanview, HA until moving to Hutchinson, MN in 2002.  He was a member of the Gatun Masonic Lodge in Panama, The Pearl harbor Association, Ducks Unlimited and the Fleet Reserve Association of the US Navy.  He was an avid hunter and enjoyed reading.

He is survived by a son, Bert, Jr. And his wife Margot of Oceanview, HA; a daughter, joanne Schloderer and her husband Joseph of Oceanview, HA; 3 grandsons; 4 great grandchildren; as well as by a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Rubie in 1997; and sisters Phyllis Lindquist and Ann.
