Brian Albrecht, formerly of Montevideo MN, passed away June 15, 2026, at his home in Killeen, TX, at the age of 54.

A military funeral service was held on June 23, 2026, in Killeen, TX at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home.

The Albrecht family is planning a graveside service at a later date in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Montevideo, MN, with Anderson TeBeest Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Brian Thomas Albrecht was born on February 19, 1972, in Montevideo, MN to Thomas R. and Leanna (Walston) Albrecht. He graduated from Montevideo High School in 1990, and soon after enlisted in the army, where he served in the armored division as a tank crewman. He served a year in South Korea. He completed his military service at Fort Hood, TX, where he received his honorable discharge as a Specialist E-4, and was later awarded benefits as a disabled veteran.

Brian earned his Master of Arts in History at Southern New Hampshire University. He was currently working on his Doctorate through Liberty University, while also teaching History at Central Texas College, and working at Bell County Glass where he had been employed for many years. He loved writing articles about history and was published in three separate issues of the “Armchair General” magazine.

Brian married Anna Vitolo on February 25, 1994. They had one daughter, Carmela. Over the years Brian and Anna traveled to Italy and Germany a couple of times to visit Anna‘s family. While in Germany he also did some research on the Albrecht family ancestry.

Brian is survived by his wife, Anna; daughter, Carmela Albrecht Harris (Breck); three stepdaughters: Nancy Douglass, Angela Carson (Arthur), Ashley Croney; stepson, Stanley Douglass; 22 combined grandchildren; 9 combined great-grandchildren; his parents, Thomas and Leanna; a sister, Stacie Schuler (Tony); 3 nieces, 2 great-nieces and a great-nephew; and many cousins, aunts and uncles, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, C. A. “Bud’ and Ardyce Albrecht of Montevideo, MN, and William “Bill” and Anna Walston of Hartford, IL.
