Bruce Allen Alsaker was born on October 5, 1952, in Glenwood, Minnesota, the son of Selmer “Sam” Oliver and Betty Jane (Pettit) Alsaker. He was baptized at the Glenwood Lutheran Church and was confirmed at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Benson, Minnesota. Bruce wrestled for Benson High School and graduated in 1970. He then attended Ridgewater Vocational School in Willmar, Minnesota, where he earned his associate’s degree in electrical engineering. Bruce lived in Benson and White Bear Lake, Minnesota.

Bruce enjoyed fishing, hunting, metal detecting, camping, cooking, and tinkering with electrics. He loved spending time with family and friends. He had special adoration for animals, and his pets always held a special place in his heart.

Bruce died on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at the CentraCare Hospital in Benson. He was 73 years old.

Bruce is survived by his children: Eric (Deann) Alsaker of Albertville, Jamie (Lynn) Alsaker of Benson, Amy (Mark) Alsaker of Benson, and Brady Alsaker of DeGraff; grandchildren: Arianne, Denise, Kyla, Brett (Autumn), and Adrian; great-grandchildren: Peyton, Lane, Vivian, Morrison, Wynonna, and Braylee; siblings Brenda Alsaker-Mikres of Forest Lake and Gary Alsaker of Benson; nephews Clint and Blake; and several other relatives and friends. He is also survived by his grandpups: Sofi, Fifi, Luna, and Nahla. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents Selmer Alsaker and Betty Alsaker-Atchison, stepfather Arnie Atchison, sister-in-law Nancy Alsaker, and many other relatives.
