Burnell John Henriksen

Burnell Henriksen, of Boyd, died on Saturday, August 12, 2000 at the Johnson Memorial Hospital in Dawson, MN at the age of 60.

Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday. August 15, 2000 at 10:30 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyd with Rev. Tim Lindhorst officiating.  Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Burnell John Henriksen was born on September 14, 1939 in Hurley, SD to John and Bertha (Sorenson) Henriksen.  He grew up in the Hurley, SD area and attended rural schools.  The family later moved to Sioux Falls, SD and he also attended schools there.  He was united in marriage to Betty Anderson on Feb. 17, 1980 in Watson, MN.  He worked as a heavy equipment operator on construction and owned and operated the Watson Café for a short while before retiring.  He was currently living in rural Boyd, MN.

He is survived by his wife - Betty; children - Kevin (Tamie) Henriksen of Ft. Madison, IA; Kurtis (Gloria) Henriksen of Mitchell, SD and Kristina (Toby) Kraft of Nauvoo, IL; step-children - Galen Kittelson of Montevideo; Debbie (Chuck) Rich of Ohio; Larry Kittelson of Montevideo and Ronald (Lorie) Kittelson of Montevideo; 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by a brother - Kenneth Henriksen.
