Charles Barber

Charles Barber died Friday, September 4, 2026 at Johnson Memorial Care Center in Dawson at the age of 66.

Graveside services will be held Monday, September 28, 2026 at 2:30 PM at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Montevideo.

Charles Wayne Barber was born September 4, 1960 in Berrien Center, MI the son of Charles and Delmar (Horn) Barber. They moved to Waterloo, IA where he attended school. They later moved to St. Paul, MN and he was united in marriage with Roxanne Picard April 2, 1982 in Milbank, SD. They made their home in Ortonville before moving to Dawson in 1999. He worked for Olson Sanitation until retiring in 2023. Chuck loved to work on mowers and cars.

He is survived by a son, Charles Barber, Jr. of Dawson; grandchildren: Charles Barber, Mason Barber, and Hayllie Barber; four brothers: Donald Barber of Waterloo, IA, Dan Barber of Waterloo, IA, Doug Barber of Farmington, MN, and Tim Barber of Lakeville, MN; three sisters: JoAnne (Ken) Frisom of Bloomington, MN, Ruth Redepenning of Ortonville, MN, and Sandra (Marty) Bellefeuille of Dawson, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Roxanne in 2016; two sons: Timothy Barber and David Picard; a daughter, Stacy Barber; a grandson, Timothy Barber; and a brother-in-law, Jerry Redepenning.
