Clara Mariann (Demeyer) Hersom

Clara Hersom. of Montevideo, died on Friday, January 4, 2002 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 84.

Services were conducted on Sunday, January 6, 2002 at 1:30 PM at Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with Fr. Jim Devorak presiding.  Burial will be in the Canby Cemetery.

Clara Mariann (De Meyer) Hersom was born on November 13, 1917 in Yellow medicine Co., MN to Joseph and Sylvia (De Sabout) De Meyer.  She grew up in the Canby and Madison, MN areas and attended rural schools.  She moved to the Montevideo area in the late 1960's and worked as a restaurant cook for a number of years before retiring. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, knitting and making things for children and needy people.  She lived in and was affected by Montevideo’s largest floods.

Clara is survived by a step-son, Ervin Hersom and his wife Kathy of Canby, MN; and nephews and nieces.

She as preceded in death by her parents and several brothers.
