Delores Sandberg

Delores Sandberg of Montevideo died on August 3, 2023 at Luther Haven Nursing Home at the age of 79.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on  Monday, August 14, 2023 at Salem Lutheran Church in Montevideo.  Burial will be at Sparta Cemetery, rural Granite Falls.

Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Delores Ann Sandberg was born in Montevideo on September 20, 1943 to Enno and Rosella (Benson) Christians.  She was baptized on October 24, 1943 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clara City and confirmed on May 25, 1958 at Salem Lutheran Church.  She was united in marriage to James Sandberg at Salem Lutheran Church on February 18, 1967.   Besides raising three children Delores worked at the pretzel factory in Clara City.

Delores was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Montevideo and was active with bible study, quilting and working in the kitchen.  She was very compassionate and would help anyone who needed help.  Delores also enjoyed word finds and baking.  Family remembers her very best rhubarb and strawberry pies and her banana muffins.

Delores is survived by her husband, James Sandberg; children: Dean Sandberg Willmar, MN, Pamela Monio, Apple Valley, MN, Julie Torkelson, Willmar, MN; one grandchild; brother, Leslie Christians, Redwood Falls, MN; sisters: Beverly Hoppe, Raymond, MN; as well as extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents: John and Ida Christians and Fred and Ella Benson and a sister, Darlene Johnson.
