Dennis Ammermann of Montevideo died on Saturday, December 20th, 2025 at Luther Haven Nursing Home at the age of 79.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Montevideo. Burial will be in Bunde Reformed Cemetery.

Dennis Alan Ammermann was born on August 8, 1946 in Montevideo, MN to William G. and Anna M. (Schwitters) Ammermann. He was baptized at Bunde Christian Reformed Church. After graduating from Clara City High School, he attended Diesel Mechanic Trade School in Fargo, ND. He served as a Field Wireman in the Minnesota National Guard for 7 years. Denny also enjoyed farming with his father as a young man.
On October 8, 1983 he was united in marriage to Nancy Ann Sulflow at Trinity of Havelock Lutheran Church. They moved to Sabin, MN for 7 years while he worked as a truck mechanic and truck dispatcher in Fargo. They returned to the family homestead near Clara City and became active members of the Willmar Assembly of God church.
Driving truck was his passion for over 55 years, putting on over 4 million miles. He loved driving across the country, enjoying the scenery, always looking for new adventures to take his family on. He had nearly the whole country mapped in his head. Many wonderful memories were made on family trips with his wife and children. His hobbies included trucks, tractors, trains, and cars. He was a walking encyclopedia of makes, models, and transportation history. His model trucks and tractors were proudly displayed at home. He liked to fix and tinker, helping many with his skills.
Denny loved to socialize, tell stories, jokes, and tease everyone he met. He was involved in the Friesen Historical Society, Gideon’s International, and a local jail ministry. Church involvement was always a priority, and after moving to Montevideo he was involved at Cornerstone Baptist Church.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Nancy; three children Crystal and Reed Schneider of Ramsey, MN, Travis Ammermann of St. Regis, MT, and Daniel Ammermann of Minneapolis, MN; Grandchildren Ezra, Avram, Norah, and Nala; sister and brother-in-law, Carol Jo and Wesley Meyer, sister-in-law Mary Ammermann, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents William G. and Anna M. Ammermann, and his brother Gerald Ammermann.
