DuWayne Rickert, of Montevideo, passed away Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Avera Morningside in Marshall at the age of 63.
A celebration of life will be held at the Montevideo Community Center on Saturday, September 11, 2021 from 1-5:00 PM. Arrangements are with Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo.
DuWayne William Rickert was born March 23, 1958 in Glencoe, MN the son of Wayne and Sharon (Lobitz) Rickert. He was united in marriage with Carmen Flickinger August 21, 1982 at St. Johns Lutheran Church near Montevideo. He worked as a diesel mechanic for close to 40 years for NRX Trucking, Schoep’s and Lauritsen’s and Dan’s Shop. DuWayne enjoyed gardening, working in the yard, and doing various projects. He was a jack of all trades. He could fix anything and if the parts for the item no longer existed he would find a way to make them. DuWayne had a great sense of humor and was always willing to give a helping hand. He loved animals, especially pets. DuWayne also enjoyed Saturday outings with his brother and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Carmen; two sons: Travis (Kelly) Rickert of Montevideo and Justin (fiancé Rachel) Rickert of Granite Falls; three grandchildren: Kyler, Hannah, and Chloe; two adopted grandchildren: Reagen and Jayden; four brothers: Verlyn (Mary) Rickert of Sioux Falls, Gary (Anita) Rickert of Pennock, Rodney Rickert of Miltona, and Randy Rickert of Maple Lake; two sisters: Linda Heike of Swift Falls and Lisa Watnaas of Osakis; stepmother, Shirley Rickert of Osakis; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents: Wayne Rickert and Sharon Rudi; a son, Devin; a brother, Robert; and a sister Virgene.
