Ed Wolf

Ed Wolf died Monday, August 10, 2026 at his home near Clara City at the age of 71.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 17, 2026 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church in Willmar. Fr. Jeff Horesji will be the celebrant and burial will be at St. Clara Catholic Cemetery in Clara City at 2:00 PM.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 16, 2026 from 2 - 4:00 PM at Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo and at the church for 1 hour before the service.

Edwin Joseph Wolf was born June 13, 1955 in Remsen, IA the son of LeRoy and Catherine (Kometscher) Wolf. He moved with his family at the age of 3 to Clara City. Ed attended Catholic School through the 8th grade and graduated from Clara City High School in 1973. He was united in marriage with Lori Onnen January 23, 1999 at St. Clara's Catholic Church in Clara City. Ed loved being a farmer, especially at harvest time, which he called “Corn Catching Season”. He enjoyed building wood projects and gardening.  He was a member of St. Clara Knights of Columbus and St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Ed was very proud of his children and loved taking part in their activities. He enjoyed wrestling, having wrestled in high school himself, and continued to follow the sport by watching his son and nephews wrestle in the years that followed. Watching his daughter win many ribbons at the county fair brought him many proud moments as a parent. Later, Ed enjoyed giving back by volunteering at the Chippewa County Fair, where he transported guests to and from the fair in golf carts.

Ed shared a special bond with his brother, Jim. The two farmed together for more than 50 years, creating a lifetime of memories and a lasting connection as brothers and farming partners.

He is survived by his wife, Lori; two children: Nathan (Tori Grates) Wolf of Litchfield, MN and Courtney (Ted Frigaard) Wolf of Dalton, MN; siblings: Loretta (Harry) Klenke, Eileen Wolf, Irene Wolf, James Wolf, Kathy Loats, Jerome Wolf, Mary (Joe) Reese, Connie Wolf, Paul Wolf, and Jacquelyn Wolf; mother-in-law, Marcia Onnen; in-laws: Roger (Maureen) Onnen, Linda (Jeff) Weitzel, and Lanae (Philip) Pieper; numerous nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; father-in-law, Russell Onnen; sister-in-law, Lynn Wolf; niece, April Wolf; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
