Ethelyn Johnsrud died Monday, August 26, 2019 at the Johnson Memorial Care Center in Dawson at the age of 98.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 30, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson. Pastor Kendall Stelter will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, from 5-7:00 PM at the Johnson Memorial Care Center with a prayer service at 6:30 PM. There will also be visitation at the church for one hour before services.
Ethelyn Marjorie (Harwick) Johnsrud was born June 20, 1921 at Madison, MN the daughter of Ole and Cora (Halvorson) Harwick. She graduated from Madison High School in 1941. Ethelyn and Reuben Johnsrud were united in marriage on December 9, 1951 at Ness Lutheran Church in Madison. They had four children. She was a homemaker most of her life and she enjoyed making all the Norwegian Food. She worked at Swift & Co. In Marshall for a short time period as well as Johnson Memorial Care Center. Ethelyn was active at Grace Lutheran Church, teaching Sunday School and vacation bible school when her children were young. She was also an active VFW Auxiliary member.
She is survived by her children: Curtis (Sharon) of Dawson, Conrad (Linda) of Topeka, KS, Calvin (Julie) of Chester, VA, and Carol (Al) Quintana of Phoenix, AZ; 13 grandchildren: Erica Johnsrud, Jerry (Amy) Henry, Tyrell (Elise) Johnsrud, Zachary (Brie) Johnsrud, Quinton (Taleese) Johnsrud, Micah Johnsrud, Stacy Ziegler, Cory Johnsrud, Bradley (April Boan) Krueger, Brian (Stephanie) Krueger, Erin (Joel) Divis, Leslie (Mark) Gluck, and Megan Torres; and 18 great-grandchildren: John, Abigail, Emily, Madeline, Henry, Ace, Kaylee, Sophia, Brayden, Cody, Cooper, Caroline, Oakley, Ava, Brayden, Amelia, Charlotte, and Derek; as well as extended family and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Reuben on October 7, 2018; and brothers: Harlien Harwick and Gordon Harwick.
