Evelyn Tobiason, of Montevideo, died on Friday, October 28, 2005 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home at the age of 91.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at 1:30 PM at the Jevnaker Lutheran Church in rural Montevideo with Rev. Gregory Gabriel officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Monday afternoon and evening, with the family from 5 - 7 PM and with a prayer service at 6:45 PM, all at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Evelyn Idella Tobiason was born on March 6, 1914 in Mandt Township of Chippewa County, MN to Andrew and Helga (Amundson) Tobiason. She was baptized and confirmed at Jevnaker Lutheran Church and attended rural schools in District #54 in Chippewa County. As a young woman, she worked for a short time at the Hasty Tasty Restaurant in Minneapolis before returning to Montevideo in 1946 and worked at the CO-OP Grocery Store, Larson Dress Shop and Ekbergs. She lived most of her life in Montevideo and was a lifelong member of Jevnaker Lutheran Church She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and enjoyed visiting, bowling, flower gardening and taking trips with friends. She has been a resident of the Luther Haven Nursing Home for the past 3 years..
She is survived by 2 sisters: LouElla Skogrand and Mildred Skogrand, both of Montevideo as well as by a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers: Arthur, Raymond, Earl and Gilman Tobiason; by two sisters: Margaret Fett and Stella Tobiason. three nieces: Julie Roder; Jean Fett and Patricia Grunewald; two nephews: Andy and Cecil Fett; by three brothers-in-law: Arvid Skogrand, Marlowe Skogrand and Cecil Fett, Sr.; and by a sister-in-law, Eve Tobiason.
