Frank Szabo, of Appleton, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at Appleton Area Health in Appleton, MN at the age of 65.
Memorial services will be held Friday, January 30, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton. Services will be recorded and livestreamed, to view the livestream please visit, https://www.youtube.com/live/D3GBaNYpcn8?si=kLJU4AI4fhIsu2BF
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.

Frank Paul Szabo was born on September 24, 1960, in St. Paul, MN, to Paul and Paulyne (Loewen) Szabo. He attended and graduated from Butterfield-Odin High School in 1978. Following high school, Frank pursued and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree.
After completing his education, Frank enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged from active duty in 1983. After his discharge, he entered the Army Reserves and later was employed by the United States National Guard until his retirement. He then worked for the United States Postal Service until retiring.
In 1986, Frank was united in marriage to Kathleen Mack in North Mankato. They made their home in Appleton, and to this union two children were born.
Frank had a great love for hunting, fishing, and motorcycle rides. He especially cherished camping trips with his wife, Kathy, including memorable trips to Sturgis, SD.
Frank is survived by his wife, Kathy Szabo of Appleton, MN; daughter, Stephanie Szabo of St. Paul, MN; son, Steven Szabo of Jonesboro, AR; step-daughter, Jessica Mack of Pittsburgh, PA; father, Paul (Emma) Szabo; siblings, Eva Szabo, Grable Szabo, Daniel (Heather) Anderson, Becky Anderson, Orsi (Kris) England and Erika Szabo (Josh Liebelt); and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Paulyne.
