Gary Ehrenberg, of Appleton, passed away June 4, 2026. A time of remembrance will begin with a visitation from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, on Saturday, June 20, at the Zniewski Funeral Home-Vaala Chapel in Appleton, Minnesota, followed by the Funeral at 2:00 pm. Interment will be in the Appleton City Cemetery.
Gary William George Ehrenberg was born to Ervin and Emmergene (Gades) Ehrenberg on April 28, 1940, in Benson, Minnesota. He was baptized, confirmed, and a lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Shible Township. Rural public and parochial schools provided his elementary education. Gary actively participated in FFA, football, and basketball before graduating from Appleton High School. Then he served in the Appleton National Guard. Gary was a farmer, being very aware of the maturing crops and following the crop markets. Feeding birds and observing wildlife were his hobbies. Family celebrations were enjoyed.
Gary was preceded in death by his father and mother and his grandparents: George and Anna (Behlen) Ehrenberg and William and Viola (Hoffman) Gades. He is survived by sisters ViAnn (Stan) Keller and Gayle (Gene) Roggeman; nephews Chad (Paula) Roggeman and Eric (Becky) Roggeman; nieces: Beth (Andy) Mork, Sara (Matt) Whitesitt, and Jill (Greg) Ramberg; and by great-nieces and great-nephews: Emma, Anna, Andrew, Ella, Peyton, Lily, Anders, Neenah, Violet, and GilSoo.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Doctors Without Borders, Boys Town, and The Lutheran Hour.
