Helen Hendrickson, of Montevideo, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2025, at CCM Health Hospital in Montevideo at the age of 92.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday May 9, 2025 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo, with Pastor Don McKee officiating.

Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday May 8, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo with a prayer service starting at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on the day of the service at the Church.

Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Montevideo.

Helen Joanna Hendrickson was born on October 17, 1932, to Walter and Anita Roggatz at the Montevideo Hospital. She was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. She was a 1949 graduate of the Montevideo Senior High School. Helen married the love of her life, Alton on June 4th, 1950 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. To this union, 5 children were born. They made their home in Montevideo. Over the years, she held several jobs, including positions at Nerison Furniture and Funeral and the Montevideo Creamery & Dairy Bar. Later, she spent several years working as an office manager at Minnesota Valley REC until her retirement.

Helen enjoyed her life as a grandma & great grandma. She was always busy with something involving her grandchildren, often attending their events and other activities. Her family was her world and she will be remembered for always being there for any of them whenever they needed help. She enjoyed taking vacations with both family and friends, often traveling in their motorhome to new destinations. Helen also found joy in crafting, jigsaw puzzles, and helping with projects at the church. Helen will be greatly missed for her kind heart and her unwavering love for those close to her.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Vicki Meyer of Minnetonka; sons Ronald (Becky) of Montevideo, Richard (Laurie) of Montevideo, Keith (Karen) of Woodland Park, Colorado, and Kurt (Nancy) of Montevideo; 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; brother, Bob Roggatz of Appleton, brother-in-law Roger (Mary Ann) of South Haven; and sister-in-law Edith Hendrickson of Montevideo.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents, Walter and Anita Roggatz; mother and father-in-law, Sam and Sarah Hendrickson; sisters-in-law Helen Johnson and Delores Roggatz; brothers-in-law: James, Sheldon (Avis) and Lloyd (Gloria) Hendrickson and son-in-law Jon Meyer.
