Janice Lenning

Jan Lenning died Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at her home in Montevideo at the age of 87.

Janice Lorraine (Kintzi) Lenning was born December 20, 1938 in Watonwon County, MN the daughter of Ernest Jacob and Lorraine Gertrude (Bergquist) Kintzi. She graduated from Butterfield High School in 1956. Jan was united in marriage with Dennis Lenning March 31, 1958 at Butterfield Presbyterian Church. They made their home in Montevideo and raised four children: Lorri, Lisa, Jay, and Jack. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Jan worked at Eckberg's, the math department at Central Middle School, and at the Chippewa County Recorder’s office from 1982 until retiring in 2005. She enjoyed time with the grandkids as well as doing arts and crafts. Many memories were made at the family's lake home.

She is survived by Lorri Maus of Maynard, Lisa (Perry Oftedahl) Libaire of Clara City, and Jack Lenning of Montevideo; daughter-in-law, Patty Lenning; eight grandchildren: Nathan (Michelle Pusari) Maus, Nikole (Brad) Miles, Caitlin (Robb) Maus-Grussing, Ashley (Jeff) Jerve, Tyler (Morgan) Lenning, Stephanie (Josh) Ronnigan, Kaylee (Emily Bernard) Christenson, and Chase Christenson; nine great-grandchildren: Emma, Fallon, Rylee, Sloan, Leo, Roman, Blair, Maeve, Scarlett, and one on the way; two brothers: Terry (Andi) Kintzi of Sheridan, WY and Bruce (Linda) Kintzi of Windom; as well as other extended family and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Dennis in 2020; a son, Jay; and an infant sister, Karen.
