Judy Johnson died Friday, March 27, 2026 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 68.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Salem Lutheran Church with Pastor Sam Kautz officiating with burial at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 1 from 5-7:00 PM at Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo and at the church for one hour before the service.
Judy Marie (Marquart) Johnson was born February 18, 1958 in Appleton, MN the daughter of Byron and Elvera (Hansen) Marquart. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairfield Minnesota. She graduated from Appleton High School in 1976 and later from Ridgewater College in Willmar with a degree in accounting. Judy was united in marriage with David Johnson June 20, 1981 and they made their home in Franklin, MN. She worked at the Farmer's Coop Exchange in Hector from 1978-1982, Standard Truck & Equipment 1982-1985, ByFold Doors 1985-1989, Schaffer & Schaffer CPAs in Fairfax 1990 - 2010, Dennis Hofbeck, 2011 - 2014, and Dana Cole 2014 - 2023. They moved to Montevideo in 2014. Judy was the Brandon Township treasurer for 25 years. She was a member of Swenlanda Church1981 - 2015 and then Salem Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband, David; three sisters: Carol Peters of Gretna, Manitoba; Dori (Kelly Peck) Bechtle of Montevideo; and Jill (Randy) Augustin of Willmar; a brother, Jon (Laura) Marquart of Appleton; and nieces and nephews: Pamela (Allen) Jacobson, Donald (Kate) Bechtle, Brendan (Taylor) Peters, Sara (Geoff) Carlson, Patti (Chris) Marquart, and Randy Marquart; great-nieces and nephews: Jacob Carlson, Alexander, Caden, Seth, and Charlotte Jacobson, London and Lainey Peters, and Corbin Cates; brother-in-law, Tim Johnson of Hector; nieces and nephews: Jason (Kara) Johnson, Jennifer (Steve) Schmalz, Jessica (Chris) Fredrickson; and great-nieces and nephews: Ella, Owen, Rylee and Madden Schmalz, Sophie, Stella and Brooks Fredrickson, and Layla Johnson.
Preceding her in death were her parents: Byron and Elvera Marquart; in-laws: Layton and Eileen Johnson; sister-in-law, Carol Johnson; brother-in-law, Robert Peters; and great-nephew, Layton Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Centra Care Hospice.
