June Nelson, of Montevideo, died on Monday, December 17, 2002 in St. Cloud, MN at the age of 62.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, Dec. 20, 2002 at 1:30 PM at Borgund Lutheran Church of rural Madison, MN with Rev. Charles Lindgren officiating. Burial will be in the Ness Cemetery of rural Madison. Visitation will be Thursday afternoon and evening with a prayer service at 5:30 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
June Marie Nelson was born on June 17, 1940 in Hennepin County, MN. At the age of 6 she moved to the Madison, MN area and was adopted by Warner and Mathilda Larson. She attended Madison Public Schools and graduated from Madison High School in 1959. She worked as a secretary in Minneapolis, MN for a year and as an insurance underwriter in Sioux Falls, SD for about nine years. On June 30, 1973 she was united in marriage to Robert Nelson at Faith Lutheran Church in Madison. They farmed and lived in rural Madison until moving to Montevideo about 5 years ago. She had been working at Jennie O in Montevideo for the past several years and had been a member of the VFW and American Legion Auxiliary in Madison.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; three daughters: Paula Nelson of Montevideo, Rebecca Long and her husband Patrick of Yuma, AZ and Erica Contreras and her husband Francisco of Laredo, TX; 4 grandchildren; and three sisters: Donna Hubbs of Washington, Dot Johnson and her husband Joyce of Wanamingo, MN and Jackie Swanson and her husband Craig of Zumbro Falls, MN.
She was preceded in death by her adopted parents, Warner & Mathilda Larson and by a brother-in-law, Kenneth Hubbs.
