Lynette (Anderson) Fjerkenstad

March 30, 1956 — March 20, 2017

Lynette Fjerkenstad, of Lac qui Parle Village, died Monday, March 20, 2017 at her home at the age of 60.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 10:00 AM at The Refuge Church (Community Bible) in Montevideo with Pastor Bruce Jarman officiating.  Interment will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Boyd.

Visitation with the family will be held on Friday March 24, 2017 from 5-7 PM at The Refuge Church (Community Bible) in Montevideo.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to service at the church on Saturday.

Lynette Renee (Anderson) Fjerkenstad was born March 30, 1956 at Granite Falls, MN the daughter of Roger and Phyllis (Krugerud) Anderson.  She graduated from Dawson High School in 1974. Lynette was united in marriage with David Fjerkenstad in April of 1976.  They made their home in Boyd, MN.  She was the secretary to the principal at Dawson - Boyd High School for 28 years and she retired in 2012.  They moved to Dawson in 1999 and then to Lac qui Parle Village in 2008. She enjoyed the Agape singers and attending “Sounds Like Love” in the cities.  She was an avid reader and spent time journaling.  Lynette was a foster grandparent at Ramsey Elementary, enjoyed cross country skiing and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, David; two sons: Nathan (Ann) Fjerkenstad of Boyd, MN and Matt (Gretchen) Fjerkenstad of Montevideo, MN; five grandchildren: Elijah, Eliana, Finn, Jonas, and Ezra; her mother, Phyllis Anderson; four brothers: David (Paula) Anderson of Altamonte Springs, FL, Terry (Jayne) Anderson of Lakewood, CO, Brian (Carolyn) Anderson of Minnetonka, MN and Jim (Leslie) Anderson of Chaska, MN; and a sister, Sue (Brad) Lokken of Montevideo, MN.

Preceding her in death were her father, Roger Anderson and in-laws, Joseph and Doris Fjerkenstad.

Memorials are preferred to the Youth and Children's Fund at the Refuge Church.
