Mabel Jensen died Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 99.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo. Pastor Matt Danielson will officiate and interment will be at Terrace Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be for one hour before the service at the funeral home.
Mabel Minnie (Kruse) Jensen was born August 29, 1926 in Wood Lake Township the daughter of Philip and Wilhelmina "Minnie" (Doose) Kruse. She was united in marriage with Fred Jensen on August 18, 1951. They made their home in Montevideo where they raised their family. Mabel worked as a waitress for many years and then as a stock clerk at JC Penney. She grew up with a good work ethic and had a servant’s heart. Mabel was active in the VFW and Legion Auxiliary and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, golfing, playing cards, and trips to the casino. After retirement, they spent 25 years living on Red Rock Lake near Kensington. Mabel spent hours with her fishing pole in the water or raking the beach. After Fred died in 2009, Mabel returned to Montevideo.
She is survived by three children: Duane (Jenielle) Jensen of Montevideo, Diane (Steve) Hadoff of Preston, and Don (former wife Debbie) Jensen of Montevideo; ten grandchildren: fifteen great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Ann Kruse; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Fred; a daughter, Connie Jensen; a step-son, Darius Jensen; three brothers: Ernest “Pat” Kruse, Daniel “Buster” Kruse, and Philip "Dick" Kruse; and three sisters: Lorena Miller, LaVerne Just, and Minnie Hanson.
