Margaret Bjornjeld

Margaret Bjornjeld, of Montevideo died on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at Luther Haven Nursing Home at the age of 87.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, August 29, 2025 at Big Bend Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be from 5 to 7 PM on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo and will continue one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday.

Margaret was born November 24, 1937, in Big Bend Township, to Bennie and Amanda (Mork) Benson, and grew up in the Big Bend area. She graduated from Montevideo High School and attended Augsburg College, where she majored in Sociology. She married Richard Bjornjeld on April 22, 1962, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo. They made their home on a farm northwest of Big Bend, where she was the heart of the family farm, and raised two children, Karla and Mark. Margaret also dedicated time to volunteering at her church and in the community. She enjoyed gardening, reading, quilting, and baking, and cherished time with family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Karla (Brian) Vien of Montevideo and Mark (Amy) Bjornjeld of Milan; five grandchildren: Nate Roisen, Owen Vien, Caden Bjornjeld, Hailli Bjornjeld, and Brock Bjornjeld; and sister-in-law, Gladys Benson of Minneapolis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Richard, and siblings: Orville Benson, JoElla Bryan, Earl Benson, Kermit Benson, Adeline Anderson, and Bob Benson.
