Mark Skogberg of Montevideo died on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at the St. Cloud Hospital at the age of 68.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 10:30 AM at Hope Reformed Church in Montevideo. Burial will be in First English Lutheran Church Cemetery in Sacred Heart. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
Mark Gordon Skogberg was born in Granite Falls, MN to Gordon and Helen (Nelson) Skogberg. He was baptized and confirmed at First English Lutheran Church in Sacred Heart. Mark attended school at Sacred Heart and graduated in 1968. Following high school he attended Alexandria Technical College as well as Bible college in Fergus Falls and Omaha, NE. Mark made Montevideo his home town and in 1992 was united in marriage to Loretta Howerter at Hope Reformed Church in Montevideo. Mark had a variety of vocations, among them were farming, driving beet truck and working at Prairies Edge Casino in Granite Falls. In the last few years Mark made his home at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo.
Mark enjoyed watching WWE wrestling and Viking, Twins, and Gopher games. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. He would babysit and play games with his grandchildren. Family will cherish his sense of humor, strong willed personality, faith in God and his loving nature.
Mark is survived by his wife, Loretta, step-daughters: Julie Williams, Mary (Eric) Koenig; step-son: John Crane; step-grandchildren: Staci Broich, Cathi Broich, Sara Williams, Zach Broich, Sidney Crane, Luna Crane, and Austin Koenig; his brother: Gary Skogberg as well as extended relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Sheila Cranfield.
