Muriel Jean Foley

Muriel Jean Foley, Formerly of Murdock, Minnesota, passed away on July 18 at Mala Strana Assisted Living in New Prague, Minnesota at the age of 93.

Visitation with the family will be held from 9:30 am to 10:30 am on Friday, July 24, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Murdock. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery. Zniewski Funeral Home of Benson is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Muriel Jean Foley was born at home on March 27, 1933, in Louriston Township, Swift County, Minnesota, the daughter of Myron and Selma Peterson Armstrong. She was the second of three children. She attended country school at District #10, Buffalo Lake through the 8th grade. Muriel was proud to have obtained her G. E. D. later in life.

On October 21, 1950, Muriel was united in marriage to William J. Foley jr. She worked alongside her husband on the farm South of Murdock until 1965. She also worked out of the home in various positions, including Carlson Manufacturing and Tebben Manufacturing in Clara City. After William passed she worked for Rice Hospital in Willmar.

She was an avid gardener and loved to work outdoors in her free time. Muriel and William loved to camp and fish, and they spent many weekends in their converted school bus enjoying the outdoors. Muriel was called from this life on Saturday afternoon, July 18, 2026, at the Mala Strana Assisted Living Center in New Prague, Minnesota.

Muriel is survived by her children, Julia (Richard) Janssen of Cold Spring, Nancy (Gerard) Rosemeier of New Prague, and Loren (Deb) Foley of Plymouth, her grandchildren, Stephanie (Kendall) Hester of Cecelia, Kentucky, Stacey (Jay) Weidewitsch of Duluth, Lisa (Kurt) Johnson of Hancock, Shawn Foley of Kentucky, Katherine (David) Zimmer of Richmond, Michael (Lisa) Janssen of St. Michael, Timothy (Vicky) Janssen of St. Michael, Jonathan (Rebecca) Rosemeier of Prior Lake, Sara (Adam) Steinbach of Bloomington, Melissa Rosemeier of Apple Valley, Andrew (Laura) Rosemeier of Arvada, Colorado, and Linda (Nash) Zelenovic, of Middle Village, New York; great grandchildren Michael Weidewitsch, Rachel Jackson, Sidney Weidewitsch. Gracie, Leah, and Joel Hester, Benjamin Rende, Eric, Blake, and Matthew Zimmer, Hannah Zimmer, Emily Mathias, Parker, Hunter, and Wyatt Janssen, Sydney Janssen, Nora, Aidan, and Tyler Rosemeier, Ezra, Jude, Rohan, and Cannon Rosemeier, Mabel, Natasha, and Mickey Zelenovic; her great great grandchildren, Vivian and Everett Zimmer, and Waylon Hester. She is preceded in death by her parents Myron and Selma, her husband William, a son Steven, and her siblings, Maurice Armstrong and Phyllis Ahern. Blessed be her memory.
