Myron "Mike" Kuno died Friday, September 26, 2025 at the Minnesota Veterans Home - Montevideo at the age of 92.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo with Pastor John Runyon officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home for one hour before the service.
Myron Luverne Kuno was born March 11, 1933 in Montevideo, MN the son of John and Lydia (Torgerson) Kuno. He attended school in Montevideo. He enlisted early into the National Guard and in 1950, Myron reported to boot camp. He was transferred to the regular Army in 1951 and spent a year in Korea during the war. He was united in marriage with Carol Olson March 20, 1955 in Granite Falls. They made their home in Montevideo before buying their farm home in Leenthrop Township. Myron worked for Chippewa County as a surveyor. He also was a drag line operator for over 30 years working for Kenny Thompson out of Cottonwood, Oliver Howard of Montevideo, and McGlaughlan & Schultz out of Watertown, SD. Mike enjoyed woodworking and working with his hands. He won many awards for woodworking and enjoyed showing his work at the Meander every year.
He is survived by his three children: Correne (Bill Strommer) Goschey of Montevideo, Kathrine Mecker of Montevideo, and Luverne (Karen)Kuno of Montevideo; four grandchildren: Tom Goschey, Melissa Lara, Tyler (Cesia) Kuno, and Hannah (Seth) Abel; and great-grandchildren: Tanner, Sage, Gracie, Isaiah, Lily, Bennett, Arlo and baby boy Kuno on the way.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife, Carol in 2020; and a brother, Wayne Kuno.
