Richard W. Bennett, Sr. passed peacefully February 17, 2012, at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN surrounded by his loving family at the age of 89. A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Montevideo with Pastor Barb Mckewin officiating. He was born December 28, 1922 in Jamestown, ND. "Dick" was a WWII Marine, Hamline University graduate, college instructor, devoted husband, committed father, and loving grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Ruthanne (Evans) Bennett; children, Dick (Valerie) Bennett Jr., Susan (Thomas) Sefkow, John (Barbara) Bennett, Barry (Mary Ellen) Bennett, nine grandchildren, their spouses and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Johnson, and brother, Jean "Bub" Bennett. Preceding him in death by his parents and three siblings. In lieu of flowers, donations to purchase a treadmill for HCMC Cardiac Rehab in Dick's memory are preferred. Family, God, Corps, and Country. "Semper Fidelis"
