Rita Laux

Rita Laux of Granite Falls died on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at St. Cloud Hospital at the age of 79.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am on Friday, December 12, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Montevideo. Burial will be in St. James Catholic Cemetery in rural Dawson. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church.

Rita Jane Laux was born in Jamestown, ND on July 22, 1946 to Herman and Delia (Brakey) Roder She graduated from Jamestown High School and then went on to nursing training. Rita was united in marriage to Eldred Laux, Jr. on August 6, 1966. The couple had two children: Mary and David. Besides raising a family Rita worked as a nurses aid at various assisted living facilities in the area.

Rita enjoyed visiting with friends and family and she especially enjoyed playing Bingo at various places in the community.

Rita is survived by her son, David of Willmar; a sister, Nora Moe; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Eldred on April 18, 2025; a daughter, Mary in 2005; five brothers; and three sisters.
