Ronald Hosum

Ronald Hosum, of Appleton, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2026 at Cura of Willmar at the age of 72.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Zniewski Funeral Home Vaala Chapel in Appleton.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Saturday.

Ronald K. Hosum was born on January 1, 1954, his parents were Gerhard and Martha (Lippe) Hosum. He attended and graduated from Milan High School. Ron continued his education and earned a two-year college degree.

He was united in marriage to Ellen (Rieppel) on May 6, 1978. Together they welcomed two amazing children into the world, James Eric and Andrew Scott. Ron thought very highly of his children.

Ron worked for many years as a school bus driver and was also employed by the City of Appleton. He also enjoyed working at the local golf course. Ron loved riding motorcycle with his son Andrew, and he especially cherished every opportunity he had to play golf with both of his sons.

Ron loved to tinker with anything he could. He had a gift for turning things into whatever he wanted them to be. Ron definitely had a master’s degree in “redneck engineering.”

He is survived by his two sons, James Hosum of Chandler, AZ and Andrew (Holly) Hosum of Hutchinson, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Janet Hosum.
