Shirley Jean Christianson was born on September 14, 1935, in Marshall, MN, to Harold and Violet (Mielke) Christianson. She was baptized at Vesta Lutheran Church and later confirmed at Rock Valley Church. On May 11, 1973, Shirley was united in marriage to Jim Dukowitz in Webster, SD. The couple made their home in Montevideo, where Shirley spent most of her life.
Shirley worked for many years as a waitress at Toppers, Deb’s Supper Club, and Mohawk Café. She enjoyed doing puzzles, watching birds, creating colored art, and playing all kinds of card games. Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and she especially loved keeping up with her family—cherishing time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
