Sidonia Lynne, 79 of Montevideo, died June 12, 1999 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 14, 1999 at 1:30 P.M. at Jevnaker Lutheran Church, rural Montevideo. Rev. Gregory Gabriel will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5-8:00 P.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo and at the church for one hour before services on Monday.
Sidonia Marjorie Lynne (Thorsland) was born March 22, 1920 in Big Bend Township, Chippewa County, MN the daughter of Henry and May (Tibbets) Thorsland. She was baptized and confirmed at Big Bend Lutheran Church. Sidonia attended country school and graduated form Appleton High School in 1939. She was united in marriage with Joseph Lynne June 20, 1943 at Shepherd of the Good Hills in Los Angeles, CA. They made their home in rural Montevideo before moving into town in 1970. Sidonia was the first Chippewa County Homemaker when she started in 1965 and she retired in 1985. She was a member of the Busy Bunch Homemakers, VFW Auxiliary, and the Chippewa County Welfare Board. She enjoyed baking and sewing and was an active member at Jevnaker Lutheran Church where she served on the Alter Guild, Ladies Aid, and as a Sunday School Teacher and superintendent.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph; two children: Sandra Ziegler and her husband Bob of Rockford, MN and Joel Lynne and his wife Mary of Montevideo, MN; three grandchildren: Trevor Bakken, Joel Lynne II, and Thomas Lynne; one brother, Kermit (Ruthie) Thorsland of Milan, MN; one sister, Lila Schirmer of Benson, MN; four additional sisters-in-law: Madge Thorsland of Big Bend, MN, Mary Thorsland of Seattle, WA, Gladys Larson of Montevideo, MN, and Della Lynne of Montevideo, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers: Raymond Thorsland and Emmett Thorsland; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
