Theresa Schmiedeberg

Theresa Schmiedeberg died September 19, 2026 at the Avera Granite Falls Care Center at the age of 84.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Theresa Ann (Gebro) Schmiedeberg was born February 26, 1942 in Minneapolis, MN the daughter of Lawrence and Dorothy (Thomas) Gebro. She grew up in Minneapolis and graduated from Holy Angels High School in 1960. She was united in marriage with DeWayne Schmiedeberg on October 13, 1962 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Richfield.  The marriage ended. She lived in Wisconsin and Nebraska for a short time, but spent most of her life in the Akeley / Walker, Minnesota area where she worked in several restaurants, Akeley High School, and Northern Lights Casino Theresa enjoyed playing bingo, doing crafts and puzzles, and playing the slot machines at the casino. She especially adored her two grandsons.

She is survived by her two daughters: Rochelle (Ricky) Hander of Granite Falls, MN and Kimberly (Gary) Klundt of Fort Pierre, SD; two grandsons: Grady and Matthew; and a sister, Barbara (Dick) Johnson of Hastings, MN.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a brother, Tom Gebro; and three sisters: Dorothy Spriggs, Mary Jean Gallo, and Donna Gerber.
