Thomas Dale Christenson

Thomas Christenson, of Montevideo, Minnesota, passed away on March 22 at St. Cloud Hospital at the age of 69.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Montevideo, with Pastor Michelle Rowell officiating. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Burial will follow at Jevnaker Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Thomas Dale Christenson was born on May 19, 1956, to Alice (Heschke) and Arthur Christenson in Montevideo, MN. He was baptized and confirmed at Jevnaker Lutheran Church in rural Montevideo. He graduated from Benson Senior High School in 1974. After high school, Thomas began working on the family farm in rural Montevideo, where he farmed until his retirement in 2002. He later worked at Barwick’s in Montevideo and then at Case IH in Benson until retiring in 2024.

Thomas married the love of his life, Denise, on May 17, 1980, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Montevideo. To this union, two children were born: Luke and Amber. They made their home on the family farm in rural Montevideo.

Thomas was a member of Jevnaker Lutheran Church until its closing in 2020. He enjoyed spending time at the lake with his family and lake friends, hunting and fishing, working in the garden, and tending to his 12 chickens. Thomas was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his unmistakable giggle, his abundance of caution, and his unwavering support for any family member or friend who needed a helping hand. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Denise; daughter, Amber Christenson; grandchildren, Aiden, Chase, and Arianna; siblings, Jerry (Joan) Christenson, Richard (Donna) Christenson, Joanne Glimsdahl, Vonnie (Tony) Daub, Gail (Ron) Seeklander, and Darleen Cleland (fiancé Glen Person); as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Luke Christenson, in 1999; in-laws, Charles and Ardys Zimmerman; and brothers‑in‑law, Bill Cleland, Stan Glimsdahl, and Harland Strube.
