Vernon was born October 9, 1949 to Harold and Fannie (Dirksen) Seeman at the Montevideo Hospital. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church of Havelock. He attended District #22 Country School through 6th grade, and graduated from Maynard High School in 1967.

He was born a farmer and began his lifelong profession of farming with his father as his mentor, and continued with his son. Vernon served six years in the U.S. Army National Guard after basic training at Fort Ord, California.

On April 18, 1970, Vernon was united in marriage to Bonita Hoff at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Sacred Heart, MN. Vernon and Bonita were blessed with three children; Kelly, Tamara and Anthony.

Vernon will be remembered for his quiet sense of humor, wonderful smile and dedication to his faith, family and farming.

Vernon was a devoted and well-loved member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Havelock, serving the congregation in several leadership positions. He was quiet about his faith but a positive role model for his family greatly due to his faithful upbringing.

Farming was his passion as it seemed any conversation would undoubtedly involve farming one way or another. He took pride in keeping his homestead neat and tidy while spending countless hours mowing and trimming the lawn. In recent summers, they enjoyed riding their Ranger with the G & G Riders on trails in Minnesota and South Dakota. Vernon enjoyed time spent with family and friends playing cards and games and especially enjoyed a competitive game of Aggravation and corn hole with his grandchildren.

When the farming jobs allowed, Vernon and Bonita enjoyed many fun adventures with four dear friends that became known as the 6 pack. While raising the 6 pack kids, special memories included camping with neighbors at Lucky Acres, participating in 4-H, attending the county and state fairs and many others too numerous to mention. Over the years, the 6 pack enjoyed traveled together, visiting many states and especially their Hawaii trip. An eventful trip to Florida led them to decide to winter in Estero, Florida where they made many fond memories with dear friends from Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan and all over the US and Canada.

Vernon is survived by his wife, Bonita; children, Kelly (Scott) Glaesman of Buffalo, MN; Tamara (Ryan) Onnen of Andover; Anthony (Shelly Gilbertson) of Montevideo, MN. Grandchildren, Olivia and Will Glaesman; Brock and Miranda Onnen; and James, Brody and Charley Seeman. He is survived by his sisters, Caroline (Doug) Nordaune of Montevideo; Doris (Roger) Goldenstein of Benson; and brother-in-law, Rudy (Gloria Skalbeck) Hoff of Sacred Heart.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Fannie; in-laws, Fred R. and Edna (Dybsand) Hoff; sister-in-law, Pat (Kray) Hoff and brothers-in-law, Robert and Ronald Hoff.
