She attended rural school near Canby and graduated from Canby High School and the Canby Teacher's Training Department. She taught in rural schools in Yellow Medicine County for six years. She was married to Ralph Abraham on April 24, 1952 in Canby. To this union, five children were born: Sherry (Gary) Jeseritz of Algona, IA, Lori (Richard) Wold of rural Boyd, Mike (Glenda) Abraham of rural Maynard, Jeff (Dar) Abraham of rural Clear Lake, SD, and Kim (Kimberly) Abraham of rural Ghent.
Vivian and Ralph started farming in 1953 and moved to their farm east of Dawson in 1955 where they farmed together until Ralph's retirement in 1991. Vivian also worked at Midwest Movie Exchange in Boyd from 1987 until her retirement in 1991. Vivian and Ralph moved to Dawson in May, 2002.

She taught religion class for many years, served as president of the Altar and Rosary Society, served on the parish council, finance committee, building committee, and was an usher and church organist for several years. She was a member of the Strand-Saboe VFW Auxiliary of Dawson. Vivian enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading, puzzles, and playing cards. She also was a wonderful caregiver to Ralph following his stroke for 17 years. Vivian dearly loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them.
Her children are grateful for the way she sculpted and influenced her family and for her undying love and commitment shown to all of us. We are grateful for the sacrifices she made and the love and care she gave to the "love of her life" which yielded so many fond memories for not only her children but her grandchildren and great grandchildren as well. She was a blessing to all of us.
Vivian is survived by her five children; 12 grandchildren - Jeremy (Jessica) Jeseritz, Kelly Danilson, Doug (Nicole) Wold, Mandy (Tyler) Leopold, Matt (Lauren) Wold, Kari (Mike) Karsky, Cody (Brooke) Abraham, Dylan (Camille) Abraham, Ashley (Nick) Tieden, Keith (Trystin) Abraham, Jade Abraham, and Bria Abraham; 17 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Viola Fox and Joyce Rueckert; and many nieces and nephews.
