Albert Gregory Kobbermann, 87, Benson, MN was called from this life on Saturday, April 1, 2023.  Albert was born on July 21, 1935 on the family farm near Iona, MN in Nobles County to John T. and Christina (Schettler) Kobbermann.  He was baptized at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Wilmont, MN and confirmed in the Catholic faith at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Benson, MN.  His family moved from Iona, MN to a farm they purchased in Six Mile Grove Township in Swift County, where he attended country school.  Albert graduated from Benson High School in 1953 and graduated from an Iowa auctioneering school in 1954.  He was unable to pursue auctioneering due to spinal meningitis infection.  He started working at the Benson Co-op Creamery as a door-to-door milkman and then moved into the Grade A milk bottling plant.  His time as a door-to-door milkman was the backdrop for many funny stories told over the years.   On November 9, 1957, he was married to Carol (Olson) in Clontarf, MN.  They were blessed with 65 years together, 10 children, 25 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.   After marriage, they purchased some land from Albert's parents, built a house, started farming and milking cows and raising pigs.  On November 19, 1969, they moved to the Olson family farm in Hoff Township, Pope Country where they continued to farm and milk cows.  Albert enjoyed visiting with friends and family, whether it be in the barn while milking the cows, at the Café in Clontarf or in a driveway with foot resting on the back of the pickup.  There was not a slice of pie that ever went to waste, and it was always better with “just a little bit more” ice cream and a freshly topped off cup of coffee.

Albert is survived by his wife Carol of Benson, MN;  his children Theresa Spike of Buffalo, MN; Greg (Kim) Kobbermann of Benson, MN; Sharon (Don) Anderson of Granite Falls, MN; Karla Lindblad of Burnsville, MN; Tom Kobbermann (Christine Jenniges) of Benson, MN; Carolyn (Paul) Reitsma of Sauk Centre, MN; Sue (Jim) Fragodt of Benson, MN; Mary Jo (Dennis) Tollefson of East Bethel MN; Dan (Tiffany) Kobbermann of Hancock MN; his sisters,  Catherine Paul, Marcella Linn, Clara Gannaway, Rita (Tom) Gorres, Anna Goulet, 1 brother, Elmer (Terry) Kobbermann; his sister-in-law Olive Voeller of Starbuck, MN; brother-in-law Myron (Betty) Olson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Christine Kobbermann, an infant son, his brother Cyril Kobbermann, his sister Marilyn Baumann, and his brothers-in-law Bernard Bauman, Jim Gannaway and Tony Voeller.
