Ardis LaVon Bergeson

Ardis Bergeson passed away on December 30, 2022 at the Johnson Memorial Care Center at the age of 87 years, 1 month, and 14 days.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at 11:00AM at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson with Rev. Kendall Stelter officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church.

Ardis Lavon Bergeson was born November 17, 1935 in Montevideo Minnesota to Arthur and Evelyn (Olson) Himley. She was baptized at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo, Minnesota and was confirmed at Mandt Lutheran Church in Montevideo, Minnesota. She graduated from Montevideo High School in 1952. 

On October 19, 1957 Ardis was united in marriage to Kenneth B Bergeson. To this union, two daughters were born: Linda and Sherry. After their marriage, they farmed in rural Dawson and Ardis worked at First National Bank and Minnwest Bank for 35 years until her retirement from banking. 

Ardis was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Ardis enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, camping, fishing, and going to the lake. Her greatest joy was being with her family, and she will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.  

She is survived by her daughters: Linda (Todd) Anderson and Sherry (Tom) Capranos; 7 grandchildren: Justin (Sarah) Anderson, Alissa (Corey) Bergman, Jared (Laura) Anderson, Amanda (Blayne) Steffen, Joseph (Mollie) Anderson, Dylan (Kadie Austad) Tessness, and Devon (Hallsey Olson) Tessness; 13 great grandchildren: Shanay, Hayden, and Avery Anderson, Kenna and Kaleb Bergman, Victoria and Katherine Anderson, Elliana and Everly Steffen, and Connor, Camden, Callie and Crosbee Anderson; 5 step great grandchildren: Madison Swenson, Kale, Tristan, Madylan, and Aiden Dansby; sisters: Jean Goulson, Janice (Jerry) Iverson, Sharon (Scott) Belsaas; brothers: Ronald (Lois) Himley, Steven (Sandy) Himley; sister-in-law, Cheryl Bergeson and brother-in-law, Ronald Helgeson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; parents: Arthur and Evelyn Himley; father and mother-in-law: Noble and Josephine Bergeson; brother, Gary Himley; and sister, Marlys Johnson.
