Carol Lange Obituary

Carol Lange of Montevideo died on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Luther Haven Nursing Home at the age of 81.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 14, 2020 at 1:00 PM at United Methodist Church in Montevideo with Rev. Sam Kautz officiating.  A livestream of the service will appear on Carol’s obituary page at 1:00 PM on the day of the service.   Burial will be in Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.  

Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2020 from 5 to 7 PM at Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo with a prayer service starting at 6:30 PM.  Visitation will continue at the church on Monday from 12:30-1:00 PM.  Social distancing and masks will be required for both the funeral service and visitation.

Carol Ann Lange was born on December 23, 1938 in Pillsbury Township, Swift County, Kerkhoven, MN to Carl and Violet (Johnson) Holtkamp.  She was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Raymond on January 18, 1939 and confirmed at Kerkhoven Lutheran Church on May 18, 1952.  She attended Kerkhoven School and graduated from Kerkhoven High School on May 23, 1956. On August 3, 1958 she was united in marriage to Leon Lange at Montevideo Methodist Church.  She was a member of Rosewood Methodist and United Methodist Church of Montevideo. She was a member of the Ruth Circle. She was a Sunday School and Bible school teacher at Rosewood Methodist Church.  She held various offices in the Rosewood Methodist Church.  She was a member of Harmony Homemakers for many years.  She worked as a secretary at the Montevideo High School for 18 years until her retirement in June 2004.  She always had a large garden and preserved the produce.  She enjoyed making coffee for friends and family as her husband had been homebound in a wheelchair for over 8 years. She was a very good caregiver all that time for her husband, Leon.  She was a loving mother and grandmother and looked forward to entertaining her family for special occasions.  She always was there with a helping hand.

She is survived by her three children Richard (and Karen) Lange of Kerkhoven, MN Ronald (and Julie) Lange of Laporte, MN and Susanne Lange of Montevideo, MN; and four grandchildren Miriah (and Ivan) Robles and Cory Nellermoe, Breanne Lange (friend, Patrick) and Alec Lange, one brother Roger (and Mary Ann) Holtkamp, three great grandchildren, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Charles, one brother in infancy, and her husband Leon in 2010.
