Obituary

Charlene Bloch of Montevideo died on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 at CCM Health in Montevideo at the age of 74.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 10:30 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clara City with Rev. Joel Gueningsman officiating.  Burial will be at Jevnaker Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Montevideo.

Visitation with the family will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Friday, July 7, 2023 at Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Charlene Bloch was born on June 29, 1949 in Montevideo to Milford and Rosemary (Rosen) Pederson.  She was baptized on September 8, 1949 at the parsonage of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo.  Charlene was confirmed at Jevnaker Lutheran Church on June 7, 1964.  She attended school in Milan and graduated from Milan High School in 1967.  She was united in marriage to James Bloch at Jevnaker Lutheran Church on December 13, 1975.  Charlene worked at Control Data and at SL/MTI in Montevideo.

Charlene was a member of Jevnaker Lutheran Church until it closed in 2020 and recently was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Clara City.  Over the years Charlene enjoyed bowling, softball, cross-stitching, walking, puzzles and going to car races.  She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary.  Family will cherish her wonderful work with family genealogy and making picture books for her nephews and her great-nephews and great-nieces.  The whole family enjoyed family vacations with Charlene to many places where many memories were made.   No matter where the event or school activity was held Auntie Charlene would drive and would be there to cheer and support her nephews, great- nephews and great nieces.  She adored them and they adored her.

Charlene is survived by her brother, Rod (Barb) Pederson, nephews: Brad (Amy), Brent (Amanda), Ross (Carissa) and great nephews and nieces: Dalton, Mason, Brooklyn, Ali, Gage, Addisyn and Emersyn as well as extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Milford and Rosemary and her husband, James.
