Charles Ludwig

November 24, 1943 ~ April 23, 2022 (age 78)

Charles Garvin Ludwig of Watson, MN died at his home on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at the age of 78.

Charles Ludwig was born on November 24, 1943 in Cottonwood Minnesota to Garvin and Beatrice (Madison) Ludwig.  Chuck was an only child and spent his entire childhood in Cottonwood.  He graduated from Cottonwood High School in 1962.  After High School Chuck joined the United States Army and received an honorable discharge.

Since the age of 15, Chuck had a passion for racing cars.  He spent years cultivating friendships with other racers and developed a lifelong love of the sport.   He enjoyed the thrill of racing and the camaraderie of the racing family.  Chuck also had his pilot’s license and enjoyed a love of flying.  He relished his time at the local airport and being involved with the flying community.

In his later years, Chuck replaced the fast paced life of racing and aviation with a more relaxed lifestyle of coffee with friends and reminiscing about good times. One could also always find him having a cup of coffee at a local café with his buddies.  Anyone who knew Chuck, loved him.  It was hard to drive through a town with him and not stop to talk to an old friend.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Bonnie; children: Angela Ludwig (Devon O’Neal), Lincoln, NE, Matthew (Molly) Ludwig, Benson, MN, Christine (Fabrizio) Inguglia, Chicago, IL; and grandchildren: Violet and Bergen Ludwig and Korrigan O’Neal.

He was preceded in death by his parents and other extended family.
