Gerhard “Bud” Jorgenson, Montevideo, died on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna, MN at the age of 83.

Visitation with the family will be held from 1:00 to 2:30 PM on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home.  A prayer service will begin at 2:30 PM.  Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery.

Gerhard “Bud” Jorgenson was born in Montevideo, MN on March 13, 1935 to George and Ruth (Gruchow) Jorgenson. He was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo. He attended rural school in Mandt Township.

Bud served in the Air Force from March 1953 to April 1962. He was an Airman First Class as a Flight Engineer. In that time, he received the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal, along with other awards. During his service he was stationed in many places, including Minneapolis, MN, France and Germany.

Following his discharge from the Air Force, Bud married Gayle Sorsoleil on July 14, 1962. Bud started farming in October 1962, and moved to his own farm in Rosewood Township in 1963. On November 16, 1991, Bud married Bonnie Paisley. He retired from farming in 1997. Bud continued living independently at his farm until July 2018.

Bud enjoyed airplanes, spending time with his grandkids, going to car races, and fishing. He especially looked forward to going on vacation every August with Kevin, Michelle, Zach and Payton to The Wilderness Lodge in Bigfork, MN.

Bud is survived by his sons Kevin (Michelle) of Owatonna, and Dan of Blaine; grandsons Zach (fiancé Jordyn Taylor) of Stevens Point, WI and Payton of Owatonna, granddaughter Brooke of Blaine; brothers: Roger (Glennis) of Montevideo, and Jerome "Jerry" of Fairmont; sister, Virginia (Stanley) Ruppe of Owatonna; brother-in-law, Eldon Aeikens of Maynard; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Richard “Dick”; sister, Karen Aeikens; two infant sisters: Geraldine and Betty; sister-in-law Dorothy and 2nd wife Bonnie.
