Janet (Armstrong) Harrell

Janet Harrell died Monday, February 1, 2021 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo, with her son Aaron at her side, at the age of 82.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo.  Rev. Marie Eckberg will officiate and interment will be at Mandt Lutheran Cemetery..

Visitation will be held for one hour before the service at the funeral home.

Janet Elaine (Armstrong) Harrell was born January 7, 1939 in Montevideo, MN the daughter of Lowell and Mildred (Gilbertson) Armstrong.  She was baptized at home on February 5, 1939 and confirmed May 17, 1953 at Mandt Lutheran Church.  She attended rural school and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1957.  Janet's first job was working as a waitress at Stampson's Cafe in Montevideo.  She later worked as a telephone operator for Northwestern Bell for several years before moving to Montevideo in 1975.  In Montevideo she worked at Data 100 and in the office at Parkview Towers.  Janet was a nature lover.  She loved to take walks, go fishing and bird watch.  Janet enjoyed church, reading her bible, and watching and recording church services on TV.  She sang in the church choir and taught Sunday School at Mandt Lutheran Church and attended Community Bible Church for a number of years.  Janet also enjoyed watching MN sports teams, especially the Vikings.

She is survived by her son, Aaron and his fiancé Angela of Montevideo; granddaughters: Erin and Miley Harrell; Angela’s children: Joseph and Morgan Curtiss; her brother: Gary Armstrong of Montevideo; her sister, Joann (Ron) Lewis of Tucson, AZ; nieces and nephews: Kevin Lewis, Brad Lewis, Holly Newland and Heath Armstrong; and her best friend, Betty (Hanson) and her husband Tom Bonsignore of Brooklyn Park.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her sister, Sharon Goodroad; and a nephew, Scott Goodroad.
