Elizabeth Ann (Oien) Hagen was born November 12, 1938 in Clarkfield, MN the daughter of Alfred and Edna (Kelm) Oien.  She grew up in Boyd and was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church.  Liz graduated from Boyd High School in 1956.  She was united in marriage with Orville Hagen November 22, 1956 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyd.  They lived in Minneapolis for a short time before moving to a farm north of Montevideo and farmed there for many years.  Liz also worked at Northern Telecom.  They moved to Boyd in 1996 and to Montevideo in 2009.  Liz graduated from Granite Falls Vo-Tech in 1984 with an Associate Arts degree in Accounting.  She worked for Mooney’s Construction and Prairies Edge Casino.

Liz played and enjoyed golf for many years.  She had a passion for taking and sharing pictures, sewing, painting, making stained glass lamps, baking, making jelly, and sharing her goodies with family and friends.  She enjoyed driving to and attending her grandchildren’s recitals, concerts and sporting events.  Liz’s priorities were family, friends and adventures.  She would travel anywhere and at anytime.  In 1962 she traveled to the World’s Fair in Seattle with family.  She took numerous trips to San Diego to visit Jim and to Mazatlan with Lori.  In 2013 Liz spent 55 days as “Mama Legend” supporting Jim “Legend” as he hiked from Mexico to Canada on the Pacific Crest Trail and handed out sandwiches to others.  In 2015 Liz drove to Seattle by herself to visit family and friends.  Liz lived by the motto “Life’s an adventure and housework would always be there.”

She is survived by her husband, Orville; three children: Lori Neeb of Minneapolis, Linda (Dan) Ringstad of Prior Lake, and Jim Hagen of San Diego; a daughter-in-law, Rosina (Hagen) Johnson of New York Mills; seven grandchildren: Elizabeth (Ryan Tvenge) Neeb, Melissa (Mark) Acosta, Sam (Jamie) Ringstad, Alisha Hagen, Ashley Hagen and Kellie Ringstad; two great-grandchildren: Emma Ringstad and Ezra Hagen; a sister-in-law, Harriet Oien of Brooklyn Center; and extended family.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her son, Scott; and a brother, Howard Oien.
