Marilyn Norman Obituary

Marilyn Norman, of Montevideo, died Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Centracare - St. Cloud Hospital at the age of 87.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Donald S. McKee officiating.

Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Anderson – TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo with a prayer service beginning at 6:30 PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at church on Thursday.

Arrangements are with Anderson – TeBeest Funeral Home of Montevideo.

Marilyn Alva Norman (Amundson) was born April 25, 1935 in Benson, MN to Harris and Mable (Alsaker) Amundson.  She was baptized and confirmed into the Christian Faith.  She was united in marriage to Milo Norman Jr. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo in 1951.  They moved to Edina where Marilyn spent time working as a butcher at Jerry’s Lucky Dollar.  Milo and Marilyn moved to Madison in 1967 and settled in Montevideo in 1970, where she worked at Trailways Café for 34 years, retiring in 2004.

Marilyn enjoyed crocheting and knitting, and with this talent she made many creations for her family and friends.  She was also an excellent baker and cook.  Marilyn had a love for fishing, which she shared that love with her family.  She even taught a class in Montevideo on fishing and how to use certain equipment.  Marilyn was an active member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church, at Heritage Hill, and the Ford Fordson National Collectors Club.

She is survived by her children, Bruce Norman of Montevideo, Jenell (Kurt) Dahl of Montevideo, Brian (Patty) Norman of Granite Falls, Kevin (Sarah) Norman of Montevideo, and Tom (Deanne) Norman of Montevideo; grandchildren, Matthew and Adam Norman, Tanya (Jeff) Vanden Einde, Lori (Mike) Huntley, Tim Dahl, Jason Norman (Michelle Magnuson), Candice (Jamey) Freese, Morgan and Isabelle Norman, Kayla (Caleb) Cornelius, and Brandon (Jackie) Norman; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; special friend and partner of 22 years, Doug Norman; brothers, Roger (Charolett) Amundson, Dorvin (Karen) Amundson, Dennis Amundson, and Kenny (MaryJane) Amundson; sister, Irene (Kelly) Lindblad; and several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Jerry.
