Michael Anderson

Michael Allen Anderson, Clarkfield, died on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis at the age of 65.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, September 24, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Clarkfield  Lutheran Church. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.

Michael Allen Anderson was born in Clarkfield, MN on February 3, 1953 to Monrud “Monk” and Catherine “Kate” (Halvorson) Anderson.  He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo.  He attended Clarkfield High School and graduated in 1971.  Mike proudly entered the U.S. Navy in 1972 and served on the USS Enterprise until 1974.  He married Jeanie Larson at the Clarkfield Lutheran Church on September 11, 1976.  They were blessed with four children.  

Mike enjoyed farming his entire life. Starting with his father in 1975 and then solely in 1999.  He loved to golf, bowl and fish. He loved his children and grandchildren and enjoyed all of the many trips to their homes with the camper. Mike had a great sense of humor that only his closest would understand! His humor and laugh will be missed by all. 

Mike is survived by his wife, Jeanie, of 42 years; children: Melinda (Nick) Hagen, Raymond, MN, Melissa (Jason) Mielke, Rush City, MN, Melanie (Jason) Baures, Grasston, MN; grandchildren: Gavin and Kooper Hagen, Shyanne, Dylan, Dalton, Daniel, Jameson, and Madilynn Mielke, Jon, Charlie, and Jack Baures; mother: Kate Anderson, Montevideo; sister: Cynthia Anderson, Montevideo; niece Jessica Anderson, Clarkfield; and many more nieces and nephews and extended family.  

He was preceded in death by his dad, Monk; son, Jason; father and mother -in law, Velmin and Amy Larson; and sister-in-law, Maren Larson.
